In a proclamation to the German Nation February 1,1933 Hitler stated, "The National Government will regard it as its first and foremost duty to revive in the nation the spirit of unity and co-operation. It will preserve and defend those basic principles on which our nation has been built. It regards Christianity as the foundation of our national morality, and the family as the basis of national life.".... FOX like Hitler uses Christianity to demonize liberals like he did Jews.

That is not an accurate chart because it uses a linear graph. We printed tons of money which topped out at 120% of GDP under the early Truman days.

@Ridetherockittt As I can't sit around by the computer all night, I'll leave with that. I'm sure it won't take long for a response, but I can't guarantee I'll have the time to come back again very soon. So, have fun coming up with more excuses for less freedom & more tyranny. If you're sincerely concerned about the economy, remember: Seeing your error isn't losing - It's enlightenment. However, if you're a communist ideologue please stop pretending to be otherwise and stop wasting our time.
By: Omnicronimous. on 07 Sep 10, 07:01:10
@Ridetherockittt Of course, we've had Keynesian economics 'in actu' in our country for a long time. The 'corporate evils' you cite as reason for bad economics are enabled, supported, and only exist BECAUSE of government intervention. Corruption in government allows for such abuses to be made in our economy. It doesn't matter whether a majority shareholder or a senator is in control. It's collusion between government and private industry that creates such power bases in the economy.

@Ridetherockittt Just a tip, Hayek and von Mises are better sources for honest and intelligent economic theory. Keynesian economic policy put into practice starts out as moderately socialized capitalism, but programs that are initially put into place as "temporary" are never temporary and become building blocks for either the transformation of a 'free economy' into socialist/communist or complete collapse of that economic system.
By: Omnicronimous. on 07 Sep 10, 06:45:14
As far as Keynesian economics go, it doesn't matter what Presidents endorsed it. As we all know, Presidents are fallible. Keynesian economics are based on the premise that because private industry is fallible, it gives warrant for government intervention to prevent economic decline and continue economic growth. It does not take into consideration the fallibility of government, the feudalistic economic hierarchy that results, nor the economic rights it divests from the general populace.

@Ridetherockittt Now what I have listed are the "major" recessions/depressions since WWII. Not as listed by the NBER. But then, I happen to disagree with the NBER's current view of much of U.S. economic history, and I'm not alone in my dissent as many experts U.S. economic history also disagree. Just one of many reasons, if we were to go by the NBER's assessment of U.S. economic history, practically the entire history of the U.S. is one big recession (which is obviously contrary to reality).
By: Omnicronimous. on 07 Sep 10, 06:13:35
@Ridetherockittt (Also depressions/recessions right after WWII - 5, Democrat Pres., & in the late 50's - 4, Republican Pres.) Since Wilson's Presidency, only two Presidents have deliberately withdrawn the hand of federal government from the economy after depression/recession/etc. - Coolidge and Reagan. Both presidents reduced taxes, government spending, and were relatively resistant to new regulation. Both times the economy rebounded with long-term, steady economic growth.
By: Omnicronimous. on 07 Sep 10, 05:31:14
@Ridetherockittt So, call the depressions we've had since WWII whatever you want. There was one in the early '60s (1-10 scale: 6, Democrat as President), there was one in the late '60s (5, Democrat as President), there was one in the early '70s (6, Republican as President), there was one in the early '80s (8.5, Democrat as President), and our current one (9, Republican-Democrat). What is consistent in all of these is failure by government operated systems. Cont.

@Ridetherockittt While the rest of the world was recovering from what they experienced of The Great Depression, the U.S. was putting out of work men into slave labor, bringing economic recovery for middle class business owners to a standstill or outright killing their business, and pushing the poorest people into tent cities which became banned from being reported on, just as they are now (when's the last time you saw the tent city outside Washington D.C. in the news?). Cont...

@Ridetherockittt Furthermore, the language to describe Depressions as anything but depressions has been standard practice since The Great Depression. By any rational standard the U.S. has gone through a few depressions since WWII. They've just been called by different names. ie: economic downturn, " slowdown, " recession (although there is room for the definition of a recession). The Great Depression would be more accurately described as a series of layered multiple depressions.
By: Omnicronimous. on 07 Sep 10, 04:54:06
@Ridetherockittt In response to what is nothing short of b.s. about 8 depressions before WWII and none since - There have been various economic downturns in U.S. history, but the first really bad economic downturn was the one following Woodrow Wilson's (D) Presidency, The Depression 1920. The Great Depression was prolonged by Roosevelt's Socialist policies. His policies transferred the economic stress of stock and banking collapses into every corner of the U.S. market. Cont...

@ekrub205 Let's see... Congress controls the purse strings, and the Dems have con trolled that since 2006. Economy was just fine until they took over. It is Obama and his azzclowns that use fear to further their agenda. Beck's "little agenda"? Interesting... we will see how "little" it is come November.
By: ekrub205. on 06 Sep 10, 22:34:50
any sane person listening to heir beck would know that he uses fear tacticts and bullshit lies to forward his own little agenda. Nazis used fear to stoke up hatred of jews and misinformation. heir beck is a scared angry small man who has no respect for the democraticaly elected president of the US. You say fuck Obama, why ? He is just trying to clean up the mess of 8 years of bush bullshit. No doubt you'll disagree. Go watch fox to get honest analysis lol.
